Capsule filling / Alignment
Bringing capsule stations back into alignment.
High capsule rejection led to a review of tamping pins, upper and lower segments, capsule separation and air pressure as one connected process.
THE SITUATION
What brought us to the machine.
An automatic capsule filler was rejecting a substantial share of its output. The service inspection identified positioning issues at the tamping-pin and capsule-separation stations, along with signs of tooling damage.
THE WORK
How our team approached it.
- 01
Aligned the tamping-pin stations with a guide and installed the upper and lower segments using alignment pins.
- 02
Adjusted the capsule-separation tower and the lower suction pin.
- 03
Reduced air pressure and identified damaged segments and capsule prelock quality as follow-up items.
THE VISIT RECORD
What the visit established
The service report records improved capsule yield after the adjustments. It also identifies damaged tooling that still needed replacement and recommends checking another capsule batch or supplier.
BEYOND THE VISIT
What comes next matters, too.
The service plan extended beyond adjustment: replace damaged segments, keep suitable spares and check the capsule shells used in the process.
