Ribbon to granules

STEP 01 / 04
Feed and release trapped air
A hollow vertical screw moves powder from the hopper into the horizontal feeder. Part of the entrained air escapes upward through the hollow screw, while the powder becomes more densely packed.
STEP 02 / 04
Precompress before the rolls
The horizontal screw advances the deaerated powder toward the roll nip. Screw feeding provides further precompression and a controlled supply to the compaction rolls.
STEP 03 / 04
Press powder into a ribbon
Two rolls, arranged one above the other, rotate in opposite directions and draw powder through the nip. Hydraulic loading provides the compaction force. Roll gap and operating settings are reviewed with your material.
STEP 04 / 04
Break the ribbon and discharge
A cutter-and-tooth crusher breaks the compacted ribbon into smaller pieces. The granulated material then leaves through the product outlet. Crushing is a separate operation from roll compaction.

The manual describes water-cooled rolls; cooling water is separate from the dry product path. No liquid binder or process water is added to the powder in the illustrated process.
